We are seeking an experienced Superintendent Finance to own the management accounting function for Thunderbird Operations and be a key commercial partner to our site leadership team.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys being close to operations while working from a central, accessible Perth location.
About our Operation
Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel). The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Operation (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon and leucoxene, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Oversee month end close and financial submissions, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
Prepare monthly performance reporting and explain results to non-finance stakeholders
Own the site management reporting pack for internal and external stakeholders
Lead information collation for internal and external audits
Maintain systems and frameworks for annual budget, forecasts and LOM plans
Govern and maintain the business financial model in conjunction with the financial modeller
Ensure timely, accurate asset valuation and robust accounting practices
Streamline and improve finance processes and business models
Oversee the ERP from a finance perspective and supervise the purchasing function
Lead, coach and develop a small team, setting clear expectations and KPIs
Monitor treasury, including cash and FX, and manage debt compliance certificates/register
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
CPA/CA qualified
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar management accounting/finance leadership role
Resources/mining sector experience
Advanced Excel and strong modelling capability
Proven experience with finance ERP systems (SAP S4 highly regarded)
Clear, confident communicator who can influence and partner with operational leaders
Organised, proactive and comfortable working autonomously
